Noon’s shadow is shortest on the solstice
In the summer though the light is longest
And the days start getting shorter
And paradoxically warmer
It’s the opposite in winter
When noon’s shadow is the longest
The days start getting longer and
Heterodoxically there’s plenty cold to come
While at the equinoxes which
Could as well be equidaysies
The days keep getting longer
And the nights keep getting shorter
Until summer
When the nights start getting longer
And the days start getting shorter
And we pass the other equinoxis
Which could as well be equidaysis
Where the days keep getting shorter
And the nights keep getting longer
Until winter
And it starts all over again
Clearly what we need here
Is a new mnemonic much
More like a pleasant tonic
And less like a high colonic
For this remembering
