Inventors! If you need some good

Ideas, think on these will ya?

Some way of storing electricity

Generated during sunny periods

For use when there’s little sun—

Like at night. Or for wind turbine

Sourced power when the winds 

Abate. Can be traditional batteries

Except with greater storage and

Greater efficiencies of storage, 

That is, as much power back out

As originally placed in. For portable

Power, cars, trucks, maybe airplanes,

They can’t be like traditional batteries.

They’ve got to be light—for airplanes

Incredibly light, so the planes can

Get off the ground and fly. 

Wholly new roofing materials

Which can reflect heat in summer

And capture heat in winter and

Resist winds that rip roofs off

During hurricanes and tornados.

Insulation that doesn’t transfer

Heat, is light, thin, and doesn’t

Truck with bugs of any sort—

That can be placed underground

And not absorb moisture. It should

Be easy to seal and join at edges

And not allow mold to grow on its

Surface. Education in a box for

Students in remote areas, those

With disabilities, those who need 

Special help, those who are gifted

And talented. This has been a dream

Since the early days of television

And again with computers but it 

Repeatedly is poor for socialization

Of the young. Sadly from what I’ve

Seen of young people socializing

Each other in our schools today it

Might be better without. Children

Can meet for physical activities,

Drama, music, art, in regular

School facilities better equipped

For those needs only—one fifth

Of the whole body on Monday,

Etc. Indestructible road surfacing

That stays smooth and resists brutal

Freeze/thaw cycles, drains away

Rainwater, and does not crumble

Into small stones when supporting

Overloaded trucks. Convenient

Public transit which can perform

The miracle of transporting people

Of all types, again children, elderly,

Disabled comfortably and cheaply

Over short distances or long

Cleanly, day or night, secure

From vandals, muggers, and

Worse while waiting at the stops.

Anti-nuisance devices which 

Can extinguish other people’s

Cigarettes, silence their iPhone

Rings, squelch their automobile

Music systems, shield us from

Their BO and halitosis, and 

Pixellate their foul language 

Tee-shirts and overexposed

Flesh and fat. OK, I got a little

Carried away with the last one.

But if they ever did get invented

I can tell you they’d sell like

Hotcakes.
